Is it alright to have a HUGE breakfast while losing wieght?

well im trying to loose wieght and i have been succesful but i havent been eating breakfast. i always hear that breakfast helps wieght loss and keeps u from overeating and stuff so i wanted to try eating breakfast every day. so this morning i ate like 2 huge bowls of speciol k, and im afraid this is going to sabotage my wieghtloss. but if i dont eat much for the rest of the day, like no lunch or dinner, will i still be on track?
